The residents of Sydmar Lodge Care Home in England have been in lockdown for 4 months. Quarantine has been hard on all of us, but I can only imagine how tough it would be to be in a care facility right now.
But thanks to Robert Speker, the inventive Entertainment Manager at Sydmar Lodge, the residents there have used the time to create something very cool. He challenged them to recreate iconic album covers and the results are awesome!!!
I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan and she’s my favorite person to parody, so of course R.C.’s recreation of the T.S. album cover is one of my favorites.

I’m equally obsessed with 93-year-old Vera’s Adele recreation.

And it looks like not only do we have a Boss in the U.S.A., but they’ve got one in the UK, too! Hello, Martin Steinberg.

Who’s bad? Toba David!

I think this Madonna recreation by Lilyonna is truly beautiful.

And huge props to the Boomer babe who created this Blink-182 album cover, tats and all!

I want to know who did the makeup on Roma Cohen’s Bowie cover because it’s spot on.

Gotta love Sheila rocking alongside Elvis.

And finally, check out the care givers’ Queen cover. These people are true heroes. Thank you to every care facility worker who shows up every day to help those in nursing homes during this pandemic. They’re risking their lives daily to care for some of our most venerated and vulnerable. And that’s pretty bad ass.

I truly believe that creating can help in hard times. I started MyLifeSuckers when I was in a very dark, depressed place sick with Hashimotos. Having an outlet to vent about how hard motherhood was truly helped heal me. Because laughter really is the best medicine. And creating feeds the soul. By inspiring these residents of Sydmar Lodge, Mr. Speker brought them, and us, a lot of joy. And that’s amazing.
