This summer is a bust. The kids are stuck at home. There’s nothing to do. No camp. No travel. I don’t know what’s happening in your house, but in my house that means the kids have been doing about 11 hours of screen time a day. Don’t judge! I’ve tried to get them off and have screamed, “GET OFF OF THE FREAKING FORTNITE!!!” like 400 times a day. It doesn’t work.
Not that I’m comparing or anything, but I was amazed when I saw what 14-year-old Macaire Everett and her 9-year-old little brother, Camden, have been up to. Macaire has been taking her brother on fantastical journeys right from the sidewalk in front of their home in Illinois with her incredible chalk drawings. She creates the pictures and then her brother poses. And the result is AMAZING! Each and every one made me so happy!
Macaire has sent her brother on safari.

And to New York!

And Sydney!

He’s played with dinosaurs!

And toured the canals of Venice!

He’s even gone as far as the Great Wall of China!

And has been abducted by aliens. Maybe this one was drawn after they had a sibling fight. LOL!

Camden has taken a selfie at the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

And gone to the fair.

And they even celebrated graduation, which so many of our kiddos missed out on this year.

You can see more of Maclaire’s awesome creations on her Instagram! I just followed her there because her chalk drawings bring me serious joy in these tough quarantine times.
