Everyone in my family got the flu a few weeks ago. Everyone except for me. The minute I saw them all go down, I started popping 50,000IU of Vitamin D per day. And shockingly I never caught the bug. I got this tip from an AMAZING pediatrician named Dr. Song. She has an MD from Stanford and is also an expert in natural and homeopathic remedies. In other words, she’s a rock star.
I first met Dr. Song when my daughter had failure to thrive and I was desperate to find someone who could figure out what was wrong with my poor, tiny baby. We’d been to every doctor in town. We’d been to the children’s hospital multiple times. They thought she might have a hole in her heart. Or Cystic Fibrosis. It was the most stressful thing I’ve ever been through. None of the doctors or specialists could figure out what was wrong. It’s was a nightmare.
Then one day I heard about this amazing pediatrician named Dr. Song. I called to get an appointment. They said she wasn’t taking new patients. I said I wasn’t taking no for an answer. I called again and again and AGAIN until I finally got in to see her. Because that’s what desperate mamas who are trying to save their babies do.
Within one visit, Dr. Song figured it out. My daughter was intolerant to dairy. We cut out milk and cheese and my daughter bounced back onto the growth chart. She gained 2 pounds and 2 inches in a month. It was a miracle.
Since that day I have loved Dr. Song. I mean, she saved my baby. Which is pretty much the most incredible thing a person can do for a mother.
