Next week I’m headed down to Laguna to the Mom 2.0 Summit conference where I will sit on a panel and speak about creating videos and growing a YouTube presence. GULP! Somehow I can go fake pee in front of millions of people on the internet no problem, but the thought of actually sitting in a room talking to people is kind of terrifying. Because believe it or not, I’m quite introverted! And I don’t really have a filter and kind of blurt out whatever is on my mind. I would make a terrible politician. (Even though I fake ran for president this year!)
I’m then headed to the fantastic BlogU conference in June, where I’m giving the keynote speech. DOUBLE GULP. I’m also teaching a class on YouTube there. Which somehow scares me less than the speech. Nah—who am I kidding. They both terrify me. But this conference is filled with the coolest, nicest bloggers out there, so I know they’ll be kind.
And then, in August, I have the honor of speaking at BlogHer, the mother of all blogger conferences. It’s going to be a crazy busy summer! And I’m going to be facing some serious fears and anxiety and going to push through and do it anyway. Because that’s how we grow. And also I already signed all the contracts.
Anyhoo, the reason I bring this all up is because I’d love to see you, to meet you, to say hello! If you’re a blogger and you’re at the conferences, stop and say hi! And if you want to be a blogger or aspire to blog, you should consider coming to a conference! Mom 2.0 is a great place to connect with brands and top-knotch bloggers. I had an incredibly cool experience there last year and made some very big connections. I believe it’s sold out this year, so plan for next year for that one, but I think the others still have a little space. BlogU is an amazing conference to learn the nuts and bolts of blogging and really connect with some of the most brilliant minds in the business in an intimate setting. Plus they’re having an Ugly Wedding party on the final night and I can’t wait to find a hideous, puffy dress to wear! BlogHer is fantastic and vast and has so much to offer for anyone and everyone. It was the first conference I ever went to, where I met my first agent and blogger friends and the one that honored me with a Voice of the Year Award for Short Video, so it will always live in my heart. So come! Join me! I promise I won’t imagine you in your underwear while I’m standing on stage (yes I will).
